We are gearing up for the 2021 Central Hinds Academy baseball season, and we wanted to share some information to help you plan for the upcoming season.
We are in the process of finalizing the baseball schedule, and we will have it posted to our website as soon as it is finalized. We will do our best to stick to the schedule, however please note that dates and times are subject to changes due to weather conditions and school functions. We will have a Jr. High Baseball team which will consist of 7th and 8th grade students and a HS/JV team which will consist of 9th through 12th grade students. We will utilize the Gamechanger App to keep up with stats throughout the season.
We have ordered all the necessary baseball gear, uniforms, hats, etc. needed for practices and games. A $150 player fee will cover everything that each player will need for the season. We are doing a fundraiser to help offset this cost. Players can sell tickets for Boston Butts for $35. Each player will be able to apply half of the profit of his fundraiser sales to his player fee, and the other half of the profit will go toward other team expenses. We currently need to replace our netting for our portable batting practice backstop, and purchase a batting practice mat. We need to have all money raised turned in by Dec. 4. This will allow us time to order the appropriate amount of meat and have it ready for pick up on Dec. 17. They can turn in their money in the front office. Also, if you need additional tickets, they can print off some more for you. To allow time for each player to fundraise, the player fee will not be due until January 7. We will subtract the money each player raises from the balance of their player fee.
A BSN online store is being created that will include additional items available for purchase. They should have the store ready within the next few days. When the store opens up, we will send out the link that is needed for access.
Now that we are transitioning into our next sports seasons, we will begin doing more baseball related activities. This will include a strength and conditioning program, concentration on throwing to build arm strength, working on swings in the batting cage, and incorporating team drills we will use during the season. We will do this until Christmas break. Once we return from the break and start the second semester in January, we will start full team practices. The Jr. High Baseball team will start practice during their 6th period and end at 3:30 PM. The HS/JV Baseball team will start practice during their 7th period and end at 5:00PM.
We will have our parent meeting in January during which we will cover additional information and answer questions. We will communicate this date to everyone once it is set. In the meantime, if you have any questions feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
