Central Hinds Academy

Prentice Brown attended Central Hinds Academy beginning in the fourth grade until his graduation in 2019. While on campus, Prentice was a multi-sport athlete participating in football, baseball and track. Some of his favorite memories of his time as a cougar come from playing football under the Friday Night Lights. When asked about some of the staff members that affected his time in school he mentions Jay Reeves, Mary Baker, Stacy Hester, Zach Miller, Phil Hannon, and Bobby Barrett. After gradution, Prentice's first job was at the Clinton Police Department where he worked for two and a half years as a dispatcher. While there, he completed his first police academy and began his career as a police officer working with the Clinton Police Department. Currently Prentice is an officer with the Louisiana State Police. He holds certifications from both the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officer Training Academy and the Louisiana State Police. He says that "the morals and values taught at CHA tremendously helped me in my job currently". He says "I enjoy public service work. It is mentally taxing but rewarding. I've got a front row seat to the best show in law enforcement." Prentice has lived in Monroe but currently resides in Delhi, Louisiana. He attends church at North Monroe Baptist Church but still visits Wynndale Baptist Church when he is back home with family. In his free time, Prentice likes to water ski, ride his motorcycle, and hunt. Being a first responder is definitely such a vital and demanding job. We at CHA are more that proud to include Prentice among our alumni and wish him safety and success as he continues to follow his career path in the future.
