
Senior Spotlight: Payton Townsend of Edwards, MS
Payton is involved in many activities at Central Hinds including the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and student government as a representative for her class. She is also senior class secretary. Payton excels as a student and is a member of the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society. It is no surprise she is a member of the ACT 25+ club. Payton is also a student athlete playing on the tennis team and cheering on the cougars as a varsity cheerleader. At CHA's annual beauty and beau she was awarded High School Most Beautiful. One of Paytons fun memories from her time here is how much she loved the senior led Bible study. Mr. Burgess is the teacher she mentions as having a big impact in her life. She says. "Mr. Burgess is a teacher that impacted my time at CHA because he always goes above and beyond for his students to better our academics and encourage us to do our best." Her advice to future cougars is "Do your best to be a good role model. Make a point to get to know the younger kids at our school. They look up to the "big kids" and it makes more of an impact on them than you realize". Payton's plan for the future is to attend Mississippi College on the Speed Scholarship where she plans to major in business. We wish Payton good luck in all her future endeavors and can't wait to see what she accomplishes as she leaves Central Hinds. Go Choctaws!

Tomorrow, April 8th we will honor our senior golf, tennis, track, baseball, and shooting team members. Recognition will begin around 6:00 in between the JV and Varsity baseball games on the baseball field. Seniors and parents should be there by 5:45.

Senior Spotlight: Kayla Houston of Raymond, MS Kayla's advice for future generations of cougars is "Enjoy where you are now and make the most of it because it goes by fast. Don't waste your time worrying about graduating.". Kayla spent much of her time at CHA involved in athletics. She is a member of both the tennis and track teams. She also plays as a shooting guard on the lady cougars basketball team, center defender for the lady cougar soccer team and is a cheerleader. As a cheerleader, Kayla has been named as both All-Star and All-American. One of her most fun memories is time spent laughing with Emma at cheer practice. She says her proudest moment was winning a state championship in soccer with her sister Jada. Kayla also excels in the classroom and is a member of the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society. and Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society. She was also voted by the student body as Wittiest during this year's Who's Who. When asked about a staff member that impacted her time at Central Hinds, Kayla mentions "During Mrs. Massey's English class and senior girls' Bible study she taught us a lot of life lessons." . After finishing her time at CHA, Kayla will be continuing her education at the University of Southern Mississippi where she has received ACT, Foundation, and athletic scholarships. She will be a member of the Golden Eagles cheer squad. She plans to pursue a Bachelors Degree in Biology and then a Masters in Physicians Assistant Studies. We want to wish Kayla good luck in all her future endeavors and can't wait to see what she accomplishes after leaving Central Hinds. SMTTT!


Elementary Easter Music Program will be Friday, April 11, at 9:00am in the gym. Students will wear their music t-shirt and a blue jean/dark blue bottom. If they did not order a t-shirt, then they should wear a baby blue or white shirt. Join us for a morning of worship as we celebrate our King.

Senior Spotlight: Kade Thaggard of Bolton, MS
Kade has this advice for future generations of Cougars "Make the best of it!"!. When asked which members of the cougar staff have had an impact on his time at Central Hinds Academy he mentions Mrs. Amanda Hearn. He says "She's just the best teacher.". Kade says that the proudest moment of his time at CHA will be graduating in May with the rest of the class of 2025. After graduation Kade plans to join the Union with an eye to becoming an electrician. We want to wish Kade good luck in his future endeavors and can't wait to see what he accomplishes after he leaves Central Hinds. Once a cougar, always a cougar.

Senior Spotlight: Price Foil of Byram, MS
Price is the epitome of a multi-sport athlete. He plays striker in boys soccer, point guard in boys basketball, shortstop on the baseball team, wide receiver in football, and is a member of both the golf and tennis teams. One of his most fun memories is winning a state championship in basketball his senior year. One of his proudest moments is being looked up to by the younger kids on campus. Price's advice for these future generations of cougars is "Enjoy the time while you're here . Next thing you know, you will look up and your last four years of high school are gone.". Coach Etheridge is the staff member Price mentions as having impacted his time at Central Hinds because "He has always been there when I needed something.". After graduation in May Price plans to attend Hinds Community College with the intention of becoming an electrician while also playing baseball. To help him on his way he has received both a Foundation Scholarship and an athletic scholarship to play baseball. We want to wish Price good luck in his future endeavors and can't wait to see what he accomplishes after leaving Central Hinds. Go Eagles!


Senior Spotlight: Ramsee Evans of Raymond, MS
Ramsee is a cougar that excels in both the classroom and in athletics. She is a member of all of CHA's honor societies: National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society. She is also a two sport athlete with her positions of shooting guard on the lady cougars basketball team and second baseman on the lady cougars softball team. Ramsee was awarded for her top tier play with numerous awards in basketball: All District, District Offensive MVP, All South, All State, and All MAIS. In fact her proudest moment was winning back to back state basketball championships in 2024 and 2025. She is also active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes on campus. Her advice to future cougars is "Senior year flies faster than you could ever imagine. take a deep breath, slow down and enjoy every minute of it. Be present in the moment!". When asked about a cougar staffer that impacted her time at Central Hinds she mentions Mrs. Smith. She says "I am very grateful for the extra time she pours into me and all of her students to ensure we fully understand the material she is teaching. She not only is a great teacher but also a great supporter. Seeing her in the stands, cheering all of us on throughout basketball has meant so much to me.". Our K5/Senior Mentoring program is what Ramsee mentions when asked about her most fun memories. "Having a senior friend as a K5 kid and then 13 years later having a K5 friend of my own, it's been a full circle moment". After graduation Ramsee plans to continue her education at Hinds Community College where she will pursue a degree in business. Ramsee will begin her college career with two scholarships to aid her on her way as she has received both ACT and Foundation Scholarships. We want to wish Ramsee good luck in all of her future endeavors and can't wait to see what she accomplishes after leaving Central Hinds. Go Eagles!.

Senior Spotlight: Valedictorian Reagan Lord of Clinton, MS
Reagan has been named as Valedictorian for the Class of 2025 but that is just one of the many highlights from her time at CHA. Reagan is a member of the varsity cheer squad and has served this year as captain. In fact, one of her most fun memories from her time here was senior night for football and cheering under the Friday Night Lights. On the tennis court she is our #1 ladies singles player and has been awarded the MVP award. Reagan is also a member of the track team competing in both the triple and long jumps. As Valedictorian, Reagan is also a member of all our honor societies: National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society. She is also one of our student leaders in the campus Fellowship of Christian Athletes organization as well as serving as the senior class president and a representative for her class in student government. Reagan's advice for future cougars is "Don't take teachers and coaches for granted. They care about you and can teach you some of the most valuable lessons in life". The cougar staff member that she mentions as having impacted her time at CHA is Mrs. Massey. She says, "She has helped me prepare for life beyond high school by encouraging me in my faith. Her christian character is evident daily because of the genuine care she puts into her students". Reagan plans to pursue a degree in Meteorology and Geosciences at Mississippi State University after graduation. She will be receiving numerous scholarships including: an ACT scholarship, the George Bishop Family Endowed Scholarship, Mississippi Eminent Scholars Grant, and a Dixie National Sale of Champions Scholarship. We wish Reagan good luck in her future endeavors and can't wait to see what she accomplishes after leaving Central Hinds. Go Bulldogs!


Senior Spotlight: Salutatorian Ginny Mae Purvis of Raymond, MS
Ginny Mae is not only the 2025 Senior class Salutatorian but she has also been voted by her classmates as Most Likely to Succeed and Best Christian Character. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, and serves as Treasurer of the Science National Honor Society. As a member of our lady cougars soccer team one of Ginny Mae's most fun moments was winning Central Hinds Academy's first ever soccer state championship. She is also a member of the CHA tennis team. Ginny Mae's advice for future generations is cryptic "Don't be afraid to drink the water, it builds up your immune system". When asked what staff member has impacted her time her at Central Hinds she mentions Mrs. Massey because "She never said no when someone asked for help or a favor and she taught us so much about how to live for Christ.". It's no surprise that CHA's Salutatorian has been awarded several scholarships: two Mississippi State University scholarships (one for ACT and one for academic achievement), the Luckyday Scholarship, and the Salutatorian Scholarship. These will be such a great asset as Ginny Mae enters Mississippi State University this fall where she plans to graduate and then continue studying at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, North Carolina to become a Biblical counselor for children and families. We would like to wish Ginny Mae good luck in her future endeavors and can't wait to see wha she accomplishes after she leaves Central Hinds. Go Bulldogs!

Senior Spotlight: Connor Purvis of Bolton, MS
Connor has been named by the students at CHA as Most Athletic and Wittiest in this year's Who's Who. He is also a member of the Science National Honor Society. As a member of the boys basketball team, Connor was named an All District and All South Player for his senior year. One of the fun memories he mentions is going to Van Cleave to play basketball and his proudest moment was when the boys basketball team won a state championship for the first time since 1996. When asked which cougar staff member has impacted his time at Central Hinds Academy he mentions Josh Kelly Flynt. He says "He (Josh) showed me what the true meaning of cougar spirit is". He is also active on campus as a member of the cougar football team. Connor has this advice for future generations of cougar students, "Do your work". After graduation in May, Connor plans to attend Hinds Community College and become an electrician. We wish Connor good luck in all of his future endeavors and can't wait to see what he accomplishes after he leaves Central Hinds. Go Eagles!


Senior Spotlight: Cooper Loftin of Terry, MS
Cooper is a multi-sport athlete playing pitcher and first baseman in baseball, center in basketball, and a wide receiver in football for the cougars. In basketball Cooper was awarded All District, All South, and All State honors for his senior year. and some of his most fun memories from his time at CHA are playing basketball during the summer months. His proudest moment was winning another state championship in basketball this year as a senior. One of his basketball coaches, Josh Kelly Flynt, is who Cooper mentions when asked who has impacted his time at Central Hinds. He says "He (Josh) showed me what a real cougar is". Cooper has not decided where he wants to continue his education after graduation but he does plan to pursue a career in business. We wish Cooper good luck in all of his future endeavors and can't wait to see what he accomplishes after he leaves Central Hinds. Once a cougar, always a cougar!
