Central Hinds Academy Senior Spotlight: Charlie Middleton from Edwards. Charlie is not only the captain of our Cougar Drumline, he was also very proud to be given the MVP award for the drumline by his director. One of his most fun memories here at Central Hinds was playing drums at the homecoming games. When asked what advice he had for future cougars Charlie wisely said "Don't let the negative opinions of others impact your dreams in life". Next year Charlie will be pursuing his dreams of becoming an automotive mechanic by majoring in automotive technology at Hinds Community College. Central Hinds Academy Senior Spotlight: Lannee Bray from Raymond. While at CHA, Lannee has been impacted by Mrs. Melissa Nix the most. She says "When I am around her I feel like I can tell her anything. She just makes me feel comfortable". One of her most fun memories is getting to take almost every class with her best friend Emily. She advises future cougars that "senior year is expensive so save your money". Along with being SADD club president, Lannee is involved in cougar athletics as a two sport athlete in softball and golf. One of her proudest moments was pitching three games in a row during the playoffs while injured. Lannee plans to continue her athletic career at East Mississippi Community College where she will be on a golf scholarship. She plans to major in psychology while also playing on the golf team. We wish all our seniors good luck as they finish the year and move on to the next step in their journey.

Central Hinds Academy Senior Spotlight: Dalton Barnes from Raymond. Dalton is a big part of Cougar football here at Central Hinds Academy where he plays defensive end. Some of his most fun memories are from the football field and he is very proud to have been both a team captain and an MAIS All-Star. He is also grateful for Coach Sam Vincent and all the things he has taught him about football. Dalton's advice to future cougars is to "enjoy your time and stay involved". After graduation Dalton will be attending Hinds Community College where he has received the Greg Williams Memorial Scholarship, Hinds County 4-H scholarships, and a Foundation scholarship. After finishing at Hinds he plans to continue his education at a four-year university. We wish all our seniors good luck as they finish the year and move on to the next step in their journey.

Central Hinds Academy Senior Spotlight: Sanaa Pendleton from Edwards. Along with her participation on the tennis and track teams here at Central Hinds, Sanaa is also Vice-President of the SADD club. She is currently a member of the sports info management club, an office worker, and a teacher's aide. Sanaa is proud to be a part of our school and the chance to share her story with all of the people she has met. One of her most fun memories is going to prom and doing things outside of school with her senior classmates. Mrs. Melissa Nix and Mrs. Amber Lloyd have both impacted Sanaa's time at CHA because they "made her smile and feel comfortable with it being her first year here. They were always there for a shoulder to lean on". As far as advice, she wants future cougars to "always be thankful for what they have because many people have nothing". Sanaa will be attending Hinds Community College in the fall on a Foundation scholarship where she will pursue pre-law. She wants to not only be a lawyer but also get her license to become an event planner. We wish all our seniors good luck as they finish the year and move on to the next step in their journey.

Central Hinds Academy Senior Spotlight: Savanna Greer from Raymond. Savanna has this advice for future cougars "Don't worry about being perfect, just make memories". Savanna is super proud to be graduating in 2024 from Central Hinds Academy. After graduation she will be entering basic training for the Air Force. After basic training she plans to enter the Air Force Academy and pursue a degree in dentistry. Central Hinds Academy Senior Spotlight: Luke Smith from Raymond. At Central Hinds you might find Luke on the basketball court where he plays forward or on the tennis court playing varsity doubles. Luke is also a member of the SADD club and has this advice for future cougars "Be the kind of person that you want people to think you are (Socrates)". One of Luke's proudest moments as a cougar is receiving an ACT scholarship. He also received a Foundation scholarship and will be attending Hinds Community College in the fall with plans to continue on to Ole Miss to further his education. Central Hinds Academy Senior Spotlight: Savannah Roth from Raymond. Savannah is active in all honor societies at CHA including National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society. She was voted most dependable for the 2024 Who's Who, student government representative, and as a representative on the homecoming court which is one of her most fun memories. When asked which staff member has impacted her during her time at CHA, she mentions Mr. Greg Burgess because he always goes out of his way to help students. Her advice to future cougars is "Make as many memories with your classmates while you can". In the fall, Savannah will be attending Mississippi College on the Speed Scholarship where she will be studying pre-law. Central Hinds Academy Senior Spotlight: Jax Mitchell from Madison. Voted senior class president by his classmates, Jax has served as part of the student government. In cougar athletics, Jax is a left tackle on the football team, a center on the boys basketball team, and part of both the golf and tennis teams. Jax's future plans include attending Southeastern University on a merit scholarship in order to pursue a degree in kinesiology. Central Hinds Academy Senior Spotlight: Alli Beth Scott from Raymond. Alli Beth is currently a MAIS All-Star Cheerleader on our cougar squad. She was also voted Senior Class Favorite in Who's Who. One of Alli Beth's fun memories from her years at CHA is getting to paint the road with her friends as a senior. Her proudest moment as a cougar came when the student body voted her 2024 Homecoming Queen. Her plan after graduation is to attend Hinds Community College where she has been awarded both ACT and Foundation scholarships. She will also work toward gaining her private pilot's license so she can attend ATP (Airline Transport Pilot) school in Pensacola, Florida. Central Hinds Academy Senior Spotlight: Hunter Maw from Byram. Hunter competes with our cougar boys basketball team as a point guard/shooting guard and as part of our golf team. Actually, one of his proudest moment at Central Hinds is going to the state tournament with the basketball team. When asked who at CHA has impacted his life, he mentions Coach Henry Gantz who has taught him a lot about both the economy and basketball. In the fall, Hunter will be attending Hinds Community College on a Foundation Scholarship where he will pursue a business degree. Central Hinds Academy Senior Spotlight: Sydney Armstrong from Edwards. As a senior, Sydney is very proud of the unbreakable bonds she has made while at CHA. She is a member of our cougar softball team where she plays left and right field and is part of several clubs including the homebodies, SADD, and sports info management clubs. After graduation Sydney plans to attend Hinds Community College where she will major in business management in order to pursue her own photography business. Central Hinds Academy Senior Spotlight: Jada Houston from Raymond. At CHA, Jada is a power forward on our girls basketball team and a midfielder on our girls soccer team both of which are currently state champions. This is especially exciting as these are both school firsts! Jada's proudest moment was playing in the basketball semi-finals for overall state at Mississippi College and beating 6A state champs Jackson Prep. Jada was also voted Wittiest Senior in the 2024 Who's Who. Jada will be playing basketball on scholarship at Holmes Community College where she plans to pursue a career with the Highway Patrol. Her advice for future cougars is "Have all your fun in high school, because the real world and college ain't fun". Central Hinds Academy Senior Spotlight: Ava Benton from Raymond. Ava is an attacking midfielder on our girls soccer team and a water girl for our football team. She has won MAIS awards in soccer and one of her best memories from her years at CHA is winning a school first girls soccer state championship this year. Ava plans to attend Southwest Mississippi Community College in the fall on a soccer scholarship where she will be studying business. Ava's advice for future cougars is "Be nice, you will always get back what you put out." We wish all our seniors good luck as they finish the year and move on to the next step in their journey.
